Visa regulations

 Conditions for obtaining a visa for short stay (tourism or business) valid for the following Schengen States: Austria, Belgium, France, Germany, Greece, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Portugal, Spain, Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland.

 

The Royal Netherlands Embassy will issue Schengen visa for those whose

main destination will be Belgium, The Netherlands or Luxembourg (BENELUX).

Opening hours of the Visa Department: Monday to Thursday from 9 am to 12 am.

Visa applications can only be submitted by appointment.

Appointments can be made by telephone: 04-259 176, Monday to Friday between 9 and 10 am.

The duration to process applications can take approximately:

-         for business 2 weeks

-          for tourism 8 weeks

From January 1st 2001, the chancellery fees for visas have to be paid when submitting the visa application. The fee is € 35,00, to be paid in local currency.

In case of not obtaining the visa, the chancellery fees will not be reimbursed.

 

The applicant always has to present him-/herself personally!

Following documents have to be presented in support of a visa application:

ALWAYS:

-         one application form completely filled out, dated and signed

-         two recent passport size pictures

-         valid passport (the passport must have a validity of at least 3 months after the expiration date of the requested visa)

For those not holding an Albanian passport: the residence permit for Albania

(except  for Kosova / Yugoslavian nationals)

-         a birth certificate (with photo)

-         a family certificate

-         an international medical insurance (1 original with 1 copy)

-         proof of financial means (applicant): copies of the last 3 payment slips and/or bank statements over the last 3 months

 

EXTRA:

For tourism, staying with a referee:

-         a guarantee letter from the referee (1 original with 1 copy), legalised by the municipality in the BENELUX (less than 3 months old). The original of the guarantee letter will be returned to the applicant for the journey

-         2 clear/readable copies of the identity card or passport of the inviting person

-         proof of financial means (referee): 2 copies of the last 3 payment slips and/or bank statements over the last 3 months

 For tourism, staying in a hotel:

-         a confirmed hotelreservation

-         confirmation of a trip through a tour operator

For official government business:

-         mission order from the competent Ministry

 For business:

-         an original invitation letter from the inviting company in the BENELUX, with 1 copy

-         if you are not the director/owner of the company, you need a mission order of the company and proof that you work for this company (e.g. copy of contract)

 For study (short stay):

-         proof of admission for desired study/course in the BENELUX

 For medical reasons:

-         confirmation of appointment by a doctor or medical institution in the BENELUX

-         a document, issued by a doctor or medical institution, stating the reason for medical treatment

-         a document, issued by a doctor or medical institution in the BENELUX, stating the costs of the medical treatment

-         proof of payment/guarantee of a third party of the costs of the medical treatment

 For transit:  

-         guarantee (e.g. visa) for passage to the country of destination

-         return ticket (original with 1 copy)

 MINORS need a legalised notary declaration (1 original with 1 copy) stating that both parents or tutors agree that the child can travel alone, with only one of the parents/tutors or with a third person. Two copies of the passport(s) of the parent(s)/tutor(s) who signed the notary declaration must be added. In case one or both parents are deceased, a death certificate needs to be presented.

 The presentation of the above-mentioned documents does not automatically lead to the issuing of a visa.

Additional documents may be asked for in certain cases.

 A Schengen visa issued by an Embassy or a Consulate of one of the Schengen countries allows the holder to travel freely in these countries. However, please note that a holder of a Schengen visa is still subject to immigration control and is not automatically guaranteed entry into any of the Schengen countries; a visa is not in itself a right to enter a country.
